Dear Customers;

The 2018 Vintage was a very special Harvest, with a long cool summer and perfect weather during fermentation which gave it deeper darker tones of cherry, mushroom and earth than the 2017. I have been able to hold the sale of the 2018 back a year and you can taste the difference in how a year of aging affects the flavors. Even though the wine tastes great now it still won’t start to peak for at least another 2 years. As with all my pinots, the 2018 has a long lingering finish that leaves you craving more, so the longer you wait to drink it the better it will be. You do not have to finish the bottle as the wine is even better the next day, and often 3 days. With a PH of 3.46 it should age for at least ten years or more. I recently had a 2007 that was in great shape and seemed to have quite a few years left in it.

I realize you have many options when it comes to Pinot Noir and I appreciate that you consider Castalia as a quality buy. I have reduced my production of the 2018 to 250 cases. This allows me to use only the best blocks available to me and I think you will notice a difference. The more people that order the wine from me, allows me to hold my pricing longer. So please tell a friend.

Looking back at all the many wines I have made, I am proud of the consistent quality of each vintage largely due to the fact that the Rochioli vineyards are the source for each one. Only three wineries beside Rochioli are allowed to put that name on the label and I am extremely happy to say I am one of them.

I still have a little of the 2017 available. It has really bright fruit tones of cherry and currants with a nice Burgundian finish and is still improving every month.. I am offering it for sale along with the 2018 in 3 bottle increments of 6,9,12 or 15 bottle lots.

**I am now offering to pay for shipping if you purchase the wine by check. I am sorry but I can’t afford the credit card charges and the cost of shipping.

Please visit my website where you can order the wine or send me an email with any questions you may have. Thank you for your support. Enjoy the wine and remember that I do appreciate your referrals.
